What determines lifespan
- The condition of the storage drive, battery, cooling system, and power hardware.

- Whether replacement parts and a trustworthy backup exist.
Repair or replace?
A slow hard drive, low memory, full storage, dust, or a worn battery can be a reasonable repair. Repeated failures, liquid damage, a failing mainboard, or a computer that cannot run needed software may make replacement the better value. Compare the complete cost, not only the first part.
